Lembranças de um Festival: O 4º CHAMA

Abstract

This document discusses the production of a documentary film about the 4th edition of the Festival CHAMA – Chapada Musical do Araripe, which took place in October 1995 in the city of Crato, Ceará. This event became historic because it took place inside the Floresta Nacional do Araripe, bringing together nationally renowned artists and showcasing local talent in the competitive section. The CHAMA festival is also important because it was the last major music festival of this format to have taken place in the region. The documentary seeks to reconstruct the event from the perspective and reports of people who experienced the festival as both audience members and competitors, focusing on their memories and using archival footage to illustrate the recollections of this event, that remains present in the collective memory of the people of Crato.
