Iniciei o meu curso de Licenciatura em Letras-Libras pela Universidade Federal do Cariri
(UFCA), ingressando no ano de 2020, início também da pandemia de COVID-19. O tema do
meu trabalho de conclusão de curso é “A experiência da Intérprete de Libras no Contexto
Educacional do Ensino Médio: Reflexões sobre inclusão e prática profissional” e tem como
objetivo refletir sobre o papel do intérprete de Libras no Ensino Médio, a partir de um relato
de experiência da minha atuação como intérprete de Libras nesse contexto. O estudo destaca a
importância desse profissional que promove a acessibilidade linguística e favorece o processo
de ensino e aprendizagem dos estudantes surdos da perspectiva de uma educação inclusiva. A
pesquisa caracteriza-se como um relato de experiência, de abordagem qualitativa,
fundamentada em vivências na Educação Básica, principalmente no Ensino Médio. Além
disso, aborda a relevância da parceria entre intérprete de Libras e professor para o
desenvolvimento e promoção de acessibilidade ao estudante surdo. A fundamentação teórica
apoia-se em autores da área da educação inclusiva, bem como na Lei n. 10.436/2002 e o
Decreto n. 5.626/2005, que reconhecem a Libras como meio legal de comunicação e a
garantia do direito à educação. Os resultados mostraram que a atuação do intérprete de Libras
inserido na educação vai além da simples tradução e interpretação, envolve estratégias
metodológicas, ética, preparo pedagógico e troca de conhecimento entre professores e o
estudante surdo. Conclui-se que a prática inclusiva depende do compromisso coletivo da
comunidade escolar e do reconhecimento da importância do profissional intérprete de Libras
no processo de inclusão do aluno surdo.

I began my Bachelor’s Degree in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) Education at the Federal
University of Cariri (UFCA) in 2020, the same year that the COVID-19 pandemic began. The
title of my undergraduate thesis is The Experience of the Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter
in the High School Educational Context: Reflections on Inclusion and Professional Practice.
Its main objective is to reflect on the role of the Libras interpreter in high school through an
experience report based on my professional practice as a Libras interpreter in this educational
context. The study highlights the importance of the Libras interpreter in promoting linguistic
accessibility and supporting the teaching and learning process of deaf students from the
perspective of inclusive education. This research is characterized as a qualitative experience
report grounded in my experiences in Basic Education, particularly at the high school level.
Furthermore, it discusses the importance of collaboration between the Libras interpreter and
classroom teachers in promoting accessibility and fostering the educational development of
deaf students. The theoretical framework is based on scholars in the field of inclusive
education, as well as on Brazilian Law No. 10,436/2002 and Decree No. 5,626/2005, which
recognize Libras as a legally accepted means of communication and guarantee the right to
education for deaf people. The findings demonstrate that the role of the Libras interpreter in
educational settings extends beyond translation and interpretation. It also encompasses
methodological strategies, ethical responsibility, pedagogical preparation, and the exchange of
knowledge between teachers and deaf students. The study concludes that inclusive
educational practice depends on the collective commitment of the school community and on
recognizing the essential role of the Libras interpreter in the educational inclusion of deaf
students.
